Claudine Nyirahabimana, 7, washes her infected foot in holy water at the Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows in Kibeho, Rwanda, as her mother Elizabeth Muhayimana looks on from the left. Elizabeth walks 30-minutes from her home for holy water at least once a week with her three children.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows in Kibeho, Rwanda, is the only sanctioned Marian sanctuary in Africa. Kibeho's overseers and the Rwandan government hope this place will become a top tourism site.
